She's Here.

And it hurt. A lot. Then everyone demands to know when you will be doing it again. Ummm, never.

And why did none of you tell me that I would have NO TIME for anything? I get irritated by emails that need response and the laundry. Our little family even stayed with my Mom for a week and I still had no time. Well except that time when my Mom, Jilly and I went to the mall to hunt down non-footie sleepers. Which brings me to why didn't you tell me that jeans for babies are ridiculous? And litle outfits are stupid because when you change diapers every 2 hours the last thing you want to be doing is trying to get teeny tiny pants off?

I'll get the hang of it (and hopefully some shut eye)and be back with my birth story and my Momma guilt and all the other crap you have no idea about until you're finally home from the hospital and crying that you want your Mom. Then your baby projectile poops on you.

To tide you over, here are some photos of my unfugly baby. And I'm not just saying that because she's mine and I love her no matter what she looks like. I can still spot an uggo and luckily mine isn't one of them.
Here she is a few moments after being pushed out of my lady bits. Jordan got to hold her since my 'ginatown was 10 kinds of messed up and I had to concentrate on not squirting the midwife with after baby fluids while she took 45 MINUTES TO STITCH ME BACK UP.

Here she is on the last day in the hospital after her head returned to a normal shape.
See? Told you, gorg baby. Like the porcelain ones you see for sale in SmartSource in the Sunday paper for 2 payments of $19.99.

Hooray! Congrats! She's lovely!
You know what? Even if every single person told you all those things you would have been like "not me!" I'm in that stage of denial right now! I'm all "oh that's your baby, mine will be different and sleep right away and my life will be the same except with a baby." even though I know it won't! hahaha.

Everyone says the first 6 weeks are the hardest then I guess you get used to it.
Take it as easy as you can and take care of yourself! Happy, healthy mama = happy healhty babe.
ps. sorry about your lady bits.

She is absolutely GORGEOUS! Honestly, what a super adorable little girl. I'm so sorry to hear about your painful lady bits! That is the part I am probably most worried about (though I'm not preggo or plan to be in the near future). I cannot wait for your story, except I can since you need all the time you can get to rest and get the hang of mommyhood. Congratulations to you and Jordan!

Congratulations! Jilly is super cute! I hope you're finding a little room in your new "schedule" (is there such a thing with babies that little!?) to sleep!

Congratulations!!! I agree - the baby outfits are silly but I personally found them to be easier to change than the one-piece outfits. He was SUPER long and they were all like knickers on him! Taking the pants on and off was a heck of a lot easier than wrangling him into a one-piece deal. Go figure. We had A MILLION one-piece items and had to go out shopping for the outfits! :)

It gets easier ... or you get used to it and you think it is just easier? And then you get used to it and her schedule/needs change ... and then you get used to it ... and it changes again! :)

BUT Jillian is, indeed, a beautiful baby! YAY!!

Congrats! And you're right, she's perfect! You're also right about all the jeans and bottoms...give me the gowns or onesies any day of the week.

Unfortunately my new little man prefers the sleep and play things with feet...oh, the things that we do for our kids!

I agree with JC - it either really does get easier, or you adjust to it and it seems easier. It might be the world's best practical joke!

Hang in there!

She's going to be a heart breaker! Sorry to hear about your lady parts. My Munchkin is almost 3 months now, and I still have flashbacks. Postpartum PTSD :P

She's beautiful! It will be awhile still before you (and your lady bits) feel normal again. Aiden is 4 months old as of yesterday and I still get achy from time to time. Return/consign/garage sale all those complicated outfits pronto and get nothing but onesies and pull on footie pants. Aiden is just now old enough to wear proper outfits, and even then only occasionally. Congratulations! Feel free to email me if you need to vent to someone who's been there. It starts out rough, but eventually she (and you) will sleep.
